Perovic joins men's basketball for 2025-26

Men's Basketball | 7/7/2025 10:00:00 AM

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry University men's basketball team announced the addition of Novak Perovic to the roster for the 2025-26 season.

"Novak brings many of the qualities we look for in a student-athlete," head coach Justin Furr said. "He has Barry DNA and a wealth of experience from both Maine and the Hoosac School.   He fits right into our style of play with his ability to play multiple positions. His IQ, toughness, and feel for the game are three areas where he excels. We look forward to welcoming Novak and the Perovics to Miami Shores."

A 6-7 forward who spent the past four seasons as a member of the NCAA Division I Maine Black Bears, Perovic found himself in a primary bench role playing in 47 games while only making five starts. During his freshman season Perovic was named a Rookie of the Week thanks to a 10-point, five-rebound performance in a win against the University of New England.

Perovic is a solid defender, who, despite limited minutes across 47 career games in Maine, was able to get 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per 36 minutes. This past season Perovic improved his passing ending the year with 13 assists and an assist:turnover ratio of 4.3:1.

"I decided to come to Barry because of the people and the coaching staff," Perovic said. "I believe in Coach Furr's vision for the team next year and I see myself growing as a player and person in this program."

The Buccaneers are coming off a 12-17 season and a Sunshine State Conference Tournament appearance.
