MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – There will be a mix of old and new this cross country season for the Buccaneers as head coach Dr. Kevin Padin has released the 2025 Barry University schedule.
"The team is reaching a level of physical and mental maturity that is exciting to see." Padin said. "While we are only entering year three, still stacking bricks to our house, this group is eager to compete. Training goals are starting to shift, and it's only a matter of time before their hard work is felt."
The harriers open up at the Flagship XC Invitationals, hosted by Keiser, on Friday, Sept. 5 at Horse Park at Okeeheelee South in West Palm Beach, Fla. It is the second time running at the Flagship, having participated in the 2023 run.
The Bucs travel across town for the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by St. Thomas, on Friday, Sept. 12, running the course at the STU Athletic Fields in Miami Gardens. It will mark the first time the Bucs have run in town.
For the third year in a row, the Bucs will race at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., at Apalachee Regional Park on Friday, Sept. 26.
The Bucs also return to the Ava Maria Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 11 at North Park in Ave Maria, Fla. They previously raced in the 2023 edition.
Barry runs the Sunshine State Conference Championship race on Oct. 25 at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The men are looking to improve on their eighth-place finish from a year ago, while the women came in seventh.
The South Regional meet also occurs at Holloway Park on Saturday, Nov. 8 with the qualifying teams advancing to the National Championship at the Wayne E. Danehl National XC Course in Kenosha, Wis., on Nov. 22
