After a Nick Toms double off the wall in center tied the game, Diaz ripped a single to left center to give the Bucs the lead. Diaz stole second and Steven Nitch knocked in Toms with a deep fly ball. NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry freshman Aiden Denton (3-2) pitched a masterful complete game for his third win. He threw 98 pitches, 73 for strikes. He made only one mistake, the homer to Cornwell, but had 15 ground ball outs. He allowed only four hits and walked and struck out one.
- The Eagles squandered a fine start from Jack Martineau. The big righty held Barry to a run on two hits and three walks in six innings.
- Nathaniel Byrd (1-2) took the loss. After getting out of the seventh unscathed, he gave up two doubles and a single to the first three batters in the eighth and all three came around to score.
- Eight different players each had one hit to lead the Bucs. Toms had a double, drove in one and scored two runs.
- The game was the first nine-inning home game since 2016 to finish in under two hours and the quickest since Mike Davila and Bobby Hernandez combined to beat Bentley 3-0 on Feb. 17, 2007 in 1:51.
