MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneers gave head coach Brett Young his first career win with a 6-3 victory over Catawba on Saturday at Feinbloom Field. The Bucs dropped the second game of the split double header 8-3 to Washburn.

- B3 - Barry grabbed the lead in the third. Albert Espinosa walked with one out and Freddy Rodriguez doubled to the left center gap. Nick Toms drove both runner in with a double down the left field line. Toms scored on a fly ball from Felix Diaz. - T5 - The Indians cut the lead to one in the fifth. Drew Robertson singled and scored on an error. Sam Hunter drove in Dylan Driver, who had reached on the error. | Barry 4, Catawba 3
- B8 - Rodriguez led off with a double and scored on a squeeze bunt by Christian Maceda. Maceda scored on a single by Kevin Noriega, after stealing second.

- T1 - Payton Mcharg gave the Ichabods the early lead with a solo homer over the wall in center. | Washburn 1, Barry 0
- B3 - The Bucs took the lead on a two-run homer by Nick Toms, plating Rodriguez, who had led off with another double. | Barry 2, Washburn 1
- B4 - Matthew Menendez added another run with a solo shot to left center. | Barry 3, Washburn 1
- T6 - The Ichabods reclaimed the lead for good in the sixth. After walking the bases loaded, Mcharg drilled a double to right center, clearing the bases. He later scored on a single by Easton Bruce. | Washburn 5, Barry 3
- T9 - Washburn added a couple of insurance runs in the ninth on a sacrifice fly and a two-run single from Cole Savage. | Washburn 8, Barry 3
NOTEWORTHY:
- The win against the Indians was the first for new Barry head coach Brett Young.
- Angel Cespedes (1-0) got the win with five innings of work. He allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk and struck out two.
- Federico Zapata worked the ninth for his first save of the year and 10th of his career, which ties him for seventh on the program's list.
- Hayden Simmerson (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned on five hits and a walk in 5.0 innings. He struck out four.
- Billy Eich (0-1) was hung with the loss in game two. He allowed three runs on a hit and two walks, with all three runs coming around after he left the game.
- Chase Tokelson (1-0) went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits, all for extra bases. He also walked four and struck out three.
- Grant Zwald threw the last four innings, striking out five without issuing a walk, for his first save.
- Toms and Rodriguez combined for six of the Bucs 12 hits on the day, including four doubles and a homer.
