DAYTONA BEACH, Fla - Despite a career showing from
Gabe Hernandez on Wednesday evening, with the freshman rewriting his career-marks, the Barry University men's basketball team dropped a 91-82 contest at Embry-Riddle.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 1H | Embry-Riddle responded to a Barry basket that started the contest with five points to take the lead, creating a double-digit separation at 14-4 with 14:07 remaining in the opening half. Barry rallied to make it a one-possession game at 24-22, reclaiming the lead in the final minute of the half at 40-39 before a 5-0 run by the host to end the frame made it 44-40 in favor of Embry-Riddle at the break.
- 2H | Barry used a 10-4 start to the second half to pull ahead 50-48, pushing their lead up to six at 74-68 before a 7-0 Embry-Riddle run propelled them to a 75-74 advantage with 5:33 left to play. Barry flipped the lead off a three pointer, bit a 13-2 stretch for the host created an 88-70 score with 1:02 left to play. The two sides split the final six points.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Hernandez established career-highs behind 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
- Nick Anderson added 19Â points.
- OT Delancy scored 17 points on 7-10 shooting.
- Barry converted on 32-61 shots, going 11-26 from distance and 7-9 from the free throw line.
- Embry-Riddle went 34-65 from the field, 12-31 from three-point territory and 11-15 from the free throw line.
- Barry committed 15 turnovers, resulting in nine points for the hosts. Embry-Riddle committed 12 turnovers, leading to 17 points for Barry.
- ERU held a 32-25 advantage in rebounds.
- Barry recorded nine steals with two blocks while Embry-Riddle tallied 10 steals and two blocks.
