MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The junior varsity Bucs opened the 2024 season with an 8-4 win over the Mighty Banyans of New College of Florida at Feinbloom Field on Wednesday.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Kyle Rostock (1-0) worked the first three innings in the split game, to get the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out three.
- Adrian Orozco (0-1) took the loss for the Banyans. In four innings, he allowed two unearned runs on three hits and two walks.
- Joseph Gamiz induced a ground ball double play to end the game in the ninth, earning his first save.
- Campbell had two hits and two RBI for the Bucs. Rodriguez, Vega and Rivera Perez each scored two runs.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs host Florida Memorial on Monday, Feb. 19 in a double header starting at 1:30 pm.
