TAMPA, Fla. -- The Barry women's basketball team fell 75-61 to the Tampa Spartans on Saturday in the Martinez Center.

- 2Q - Although the Spartans scored the first four points of the second period to take the lead, Barry responded with a 12-7 run, led by seven points from McFerrin. - 3Q - The third quarter was a tale of two halves. The Spartans bolted out of the locker room on fire and scored 15 of the first 17 points to take a nine-point advantage. They later pushed to the lead to 10. But over the last three minutes, the Bucs rode a 12-2 run to tie the game. NOTEWORTHY:
- McFerrin led the Bucs with a season-high 18 points, including 4-for-11 from three-point range.
- Audrey Jennings and Kayla Lindsey each chipped in 11 points, while Chiara Fusari added 10.
- Zoe Piller led four Spartans in double figures with 18, while Mya Giusto had 17, Sarah Jones 16 and Audrey Ramsey 14.
- Barry out-scored the Spartans 27-4 off the bench, thanks to McFerrin's out-burst, and 27-9 from three-point range.
- But the Spartans owned the paint, out-scoring Barry 42-18 inside and out-rebounding the BUcs 43-34. Piller and Giusto each had double doubles with 13 and 11 rebounds, respectively.
- Britney Mapang led Barry with eight caroms.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs visit Florida Tech on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in the Clemente Center. The Panthers are currently winless at 0-9 in the league.
