MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University women's basketball team bested Rollins College, 48-45, in a back-and-forth Sunshine State Conference (SSC) contest at the Health & Sports Center on the Buccaneer campus in Miami Shores, Florida. The Buccaneers led by as many as 10 (29-19 in the second quarter) in a game that featured a dozen lead changes and three ties. Trinity Bosecker had two blocked shots including her last one that kept Claire Erickson from creating a 13th lead change in the closing seconds.

All-Time Series: The teams met for the 75th time today. The Tars hold a 49-26 lead in the series, but the Buccaneers have won the last three meetings including a season-sweep last year.

- 1Q - Dasiah Thornton got the scoring started on Barry's first possession after Ashia Pool stole the ball for the Buccaneers. Aaliyah Irizarry scored the Tars' first bucket on a 3-pointer following an offensive rebound. Trinity Bosecker had a baseline jumper and Barry was back on top. After Reagan Jackson's fastbreak jumper in the paint gave Barry a five-point lead (12-7), Rollins finished the period with an 8-0 run. Pool tied the score (16-16) and K'Nari Holliday added a jumper for another Buccaneer lead, but Erin Leigh's three made the score, 19-18, for Rollins. Holliday started an 11-0 Buccaneer run with back-to-back layups. Bosecker had a layup with an assist from Pool, and then a jumper in the paint with an assist from Jeannie Scott. - 3Q - The teams were scoreless through the first two minutes of the third quarter before Emily Dogbatse hit her first of three 3-pointers in the half. She drained another to pull Rollins within two, 29-27. Bosecker's basket at 5:32 were the first points for Barry in the period. Irizarry tied the score at 31-31 before Chiara Fusari connected on the Buccaneers' only 3-pointer of the game (1-for-11; .9.1%). - 4Q - Fusari started the final quarter with a post-up turnaround jumper in the paint. She got a piece of a Lucy Leen 3-point attempt and Ashia Pool followed a Tar turnover with a jumper for a five-point lead (40-35) at 7:51. Dogbatse hit her third three just 18 seconds later and the visitors closed the gap to two. Fusari then had a pull-up fastbreak jumper in the paint. Glantz's jumper in the paint gave Barry aonther five-point bulge at 5:54, and both teams were scoreless for the next two and a half minutes. Erickson's driving layup at 3:12 was quickly followed by Pool's jumper in the paint at 3:02 to maintain a five-point margin, 46-41. Missed shots and turnovers brought the same score to 1:42 when Grace Alfieri hit a jumper in the paint. Irizarry's jumper under a minute had the Tars trailing by just one, 46-45, and they got the ball back on a team round with a Buccaneer shot going out of bounds off the backboard. Erickson drove the right side of the lane where she was met by Bosecker who stuffed her shot and picked up the loose ball rebound to get fouled. - Ashia Pool was the only player on either team to score in double figures (10 points).
- Bosecker led all players with 10 rebounds.
- Barry went 1-for-11 on its 3-point shooting (9.1%).
