MELBOURNE, Fla. -- The 23rd-ranked Barry Buccaneers tied Rollins in the NCAA National Quarterfinal 1-1, but their season remains alive after an intense finish in penalty kicks. The Bucs survive as they advance thanks to three huge saves by Jean Claude Consol, prevailing 3-1 after four rounds of kicks.

NOTEWORTHY:
- After going down a man, the Bucs were still able to keep their attack flowing as they put up nine shots after the sending of Nils Buecheler in the 60th minute. This led to the Buccaneers outshooting the Tars 12-4 in second half.
- A minute after Yamil Gauna was subbed in to the game, he was able to give the Buccaneers the tying goal in the 86th minute.
- Consol split the keeping duties for the Bucs with Buecheler after he was sent off. Buecheler in 60 minutes made three saves but allowed a goal while Consol did not face a shot on frame in his 50:29.
- Maximilli Obermeier had eight saves for Rollins but conceded the equalizer to Gauna in the 86th minute.
- The trip to the semifinals is the fourth for the Bucs and the first since winning the 2018 NCAA D-II National Championship.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs are traveling to Seattle, Washington as they will compete in the NCAA Division II Fall Festival. The Bucs will face number three seed Colorado State-Pueblo on Thursday, December 1st at Interbay Stadium.
