MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The ninth-ranked Barry Buccaneers exploded for a season-high five goals in a 5-0 blowout of Embry-Riddle at Buccaneer Field on Saturday night in Sunshine State Conference women's soccer action.

SUMMARY:
- 1:41 - Molly Sharpe got the game-winner with the game barely started in the second minute. Sarah Wignall took the ball down to the baseline on the left side and her cross to the center of the penalty box found Sharpe unmarked for the goal.
- 6:49 - Wignall had another assist on the second goal. She played a short corner out to Brittany Larosa and Larosa sent a service in from 35 yards. Gabby Sanon got her head on the pass for the goal.
- 55:47 - After a throw-in, Christy Grimshaw touched the ball over to Sharpe who sent it right back. Grimshaw ripped a shot from 19 yards out to the far post.
- 76:21 - Sharpe got her second goal of the night in the 77th minute. Ari Cerezuela popped a pass up over the top of the Eagle back line to Grimshaw. Grimshaw one-timed the ball to Sharpe unmarked in the middle of the box.Â
- 85:01 - Larosa cleared the ball out of the back long down the field and Alissa Bello ran under it, touched it past the defender, took another past the Eagle keeper and scored in the empty net.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Melanie Ziegner worked her third complete-game shutout, making four saves.
- Fanny Kristiansson had six saves for the Eagles, but conceded five goals.
- The Bucs, who had set a season-high with four goals on Wednesday against Palm Beach Atlantic, torched the Eagles for five. It was the most goals scored by Barry since a 5-2 win over West Alabama on Sept. 27, 2016. It was the largest margin of victory since a 6-1 win over Eckerd on Oct. 9, 2011.
- It was the most goals allowed by Embry-Riddle since a 5-0 set back to Lindsey Wilson on Oct. 11, 2016.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry heads over the Davie, Fla., on Wednesday, Oct. 3 to take on the Nova Southeastern Sharks in a Sunshine State Conference match. The Bucs defeated the Sharks 2-1 earlier this season in a non-conference tilt.
