Baseball Splits With Eagles

Bralczyk carries no-hitter into sixth

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers split a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader with the Emry-Riddle Eagles, winning the first game 6-2 but dropping the rubber game 11-6 in the nightcap.

Nick Bralczyk (2-1) carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Sebastian Dayoub went 4-for-4 in game one.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Bralczyk did not give up a hit until the sixth inning in his longest outing of the year. He left allowing just the one hit and two walks. 
  • Daniel Broeseker got the final two outs for his eighth save.
  • Garrett Goodall (2-3) took the loss for ERAU. He allowed five runs (two earned) in 5.2 innings on nine hits and a walk.
  • Aiden Brady (2-6) went four scoreless innings in relief of J.C. Carrel. Brady allowed five hits and three walks. 
  • Dominic Jeancola worked the final 2.1 innings to get his fourth save of the season.
  • Freshmen Sobalvarro (6-for-9) and Thompson (4-for-6) both hit .667 on the day for the Bucs, who out hit the Eagles .357 to .275, despite getting out-scored 13-12.

Buccaneer baseball makes it back to Miami Shores to host the Florida Tech Panthers, May 6-7 at Feinbloom Field.
