MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry's baseball team clipped the claws the Lions of Florida Memorial University 8-5 on Wednesday night at Feinbloom Field. The Bucs held the Lions to just six hits and four earned runs.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Blaine Duncan (1-0) worked 1.2 innings in relief of starter Anthony Gutierrez to get the win. He struck out two and walked one, but benefited from a double play in facing the minimum.
- Daniel Broeseker walked the lead off man in the ninth, but set the next three Lions down in order for his sixth save.
- Carlos Alcon (4-5) took the loss for the Lions. He allowed five runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out three in 3.0+ innings.
- Sobalvarro was 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Bucs. Rapoza also had three hits and three RBI. Quintana had two doubles and scored two runs.
- Sanchez led the Lions at the plate. He was responsible for all five runs, scoring two and driving in the other three.
