HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- All good things must come to an end. For Barry University's 19th-ranked men's basketball team, that end was Sunday night.
The Buccaneers lost to host Alabama-Huntsville, 96-82, in the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament at Spragins Hall in front of 2,058 fans -- the largest crowd to see a Barry game this season.
Senior
Adrian Gonzalez scored 25 points on 8 of 17 shooting to become the fourth player in school history to reach 1,500 career points. He finished his four-year career with 1,508 points.
Arie Williams had 18 points, and connected on three triples. He finished his four-year career in ninth place on the school's all-time scoring list with 980 points.

SUMMARY:
- Barry jumped out to a 10-point lead 3:27 into the game, but the Chargers gained control at the 11:30 mark on one of Kip Owens' six triples. The Bucs went back up five less than two minutes later after three straight free throws by Williams, who was 7-for-7 from the line. But UAH responded with a 10-2 run to take a 29-26 lead with 6:55 to play in the first half.
- Huntsville extended its lead to six with 1:09 remaining in the first half, but Williams buried a three with 42 seconds left on the clock, only to have Seab Webster answer with a triple of his own to send the Chargers into the break ahead six.
- Barry shot 38 percent in the first half. Alabama-Huntsville hit 54.4 percent of its field goals.
- The Chargers opened up an 18-point lead 11:32 into the second half on a triple by Owens. They padded the margin to 22 on another three by Owens, but Williams sank four straight free throws within eight seconds -- the later two at the 4:53 mark to bring Barry within 13. Huntsville bumped its lead back to 16, but Williams canned a triple with 1:32 to go to make it an 11-point game. The Bucs got no closer the rest of the way.
- UAH's bench outscored Barry's 20-0 in the second half, and 42-6 in the game.
- All five starters scored in double figures for the Bucs. Webster had 30 points, and Owens 20 for the Chargers.
NOTEWORTHY
- The game was a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament South Region championship game the Buccaneers won.
- Williams ended his career with 252 3-pointers, which ranks second in school history. His .409 three-point field goal percentage ranks third at Barry. South Side also finished third in school history in career free throw percentage (.825) and seventh in assists (273). His 97 triples this season ranks second at Barry.
- Gonzalez finished his career with a .590 field goal percentage, which ranks second in school history. His 629 field goals is the most of any Buccaneer in the top 10 in career shooting percentage.
- Gonzalez and Williams represent the winningest class in Barry history. They were a part of four teams that combined for 93 wins and four straight trips to the NCAA Tournament, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2015-16.
