BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Barry University's women's basketball team was edged by the Knights on the road Wednesday night 54-51.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"We were proud of our second half effort," assistant coach Brianna Finch said. "We just need to be able to put four quarters together, both offensively and defensively going forward."
SUMMARY:
- 1Q - The Bucs opened up well, holding the lead for most of the first quarter. Kiara Palmer had three layups, good for six points. However the Knights bounced back to to take the lead, scoring six points in the final minute. | Lynn 19, Barry 15.
- 2Q - Barry fell behind by 15 points after the second quarter after only shooting 2-14 from the field, and were 0-6 from three-point range. Lynn played their best quarter, scoring 17 points. Jaylen Snipes grabbed seven of those points for the Knights. | Lynn 36, Barry 21.
- 3Q - The Buccaneers outscored the Knights 12-11 during the third quarter. Lexy Schoonover went 3-4 from the field, and had two steals for the Bucs. Paola Vazquez went 2-2 from the field to extend the Knight's lead to 14 points. | Lynn 47, Barry 33.
- 4Q - Barry played their best offensive quarter, outscoring the Knights 18-7. Melanie Jordan and Palmer combined for 14 points in the fourth quarter to help cut the Knight's lead. Barry shot 8-17 from the field, while Lynn only shot 3-12. The Buc's rally fell short as they came within only three points of Lynn's lead. | Lynn 54, Barry 51.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Palmer led the Bucs with 19 points. Lauren Seyranian added eight points, while Julia Paulin and Schoonover each split six a piece.
- Barry outscored Lynn 30-18 in the second half after, being edged by the Knights 36-21 in the first half.
- The Bucs were 68% from the free-throw line, while Lynn was only 40%.
- Vazquez led the field with 22 points for Lynn. Brekia Henderson was behind her with 11 points.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs continue conference play on Saturday Feb. 4 at 2 pm. Barry will host the Lions of Saint Leo.
