DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Barry women's basketball team lost 54-50 to the Converse Valkyries in the Bahama House Classic at the ICI Center at Embry-Riddle on Saturday.

- 1Q - The Bucs dug a big hole to start the game, falling behind 14-2 after 4:42 in the first quarter. The Bucs missed their first four shots from the field and had four turnovers during that stretch, while the Valkyries shot 6-of-11, including two three-pointers and did not turn the ball over. - 2Q - The Bucs' shooting woes continued in the second quarter as they hit just 30.8 percent (4-for-13). The Valkyries did not do much better, hitting just 31.6 percent, but thanks to a 16-7 edge on the boards, outscored the Bucs 15-10 in the period. | Converse 32, Barry 21
- 3Q - The Bucs kicked it up in the third quarter, behind eight points from Elin Ekdahl. Barry shot 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from the floor and out-scored the Valkyries 20-15. | Converse 47, Barry 41
- 4Q - The fourth quarter was an exercise in futility for both teams. The Bucs' defense shut the Valkyries down, holding them to just 13.3 percent shooting (2-of-15) and a pair of field goals. But the Bucs only managed 4-of-15 and nine points. Barry closed to within two, 50-48, with 4:54 left on a layup by Juhnae Richardson. NOTEWORTHY:
- Ekdahl scored a team-high 13 points and was named to the All-Tournament team. Richardson and Julia Paulin each had nine points.
- Erin Horne led the Valkyries with 15 points, while Kassidy Moorhead had 13.
- Ekdahl now leads the Sunshine State Conference in three-point shooting at 54.5 percent.
- The Valkyries had a 47-33 edge on the glass.
