DAVIE, Fla. – Barry University men's basketball team pulled out an impressive road win over Nova Southeastern Saturday, winning 79-71 in overtime.
The No. 6 Buccaneers won their 20
th game of the season for the first time in five years, but needed a heroic comeback to do so. Barry will take its 20-2 overall, 11-1 Sunshine State Conference record to Florida Tech for Wednesday's 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Arie Williams hit a three-pointer with 42 seconds left.
Deric Hill had a steal and layup eight seconds later to bring the Bucs within two, 63-61. Nova's Stian Berg split a pair from the free throw line to push the Sharks ahead by three. Barry's
Juan Ferrales hit the first of two free throws, and
Yunio Barrueta grabbed the offensive rebound on the second and put back the follow to tie the game at 64-64 with 12 seconds on the clock. Hill stole the ball from NSU's Justin Jeangerard with three seconds left in regulation, but his desperation triple was off the mark, forcing overtime.
Hill came up with his sixth steal at the 3:03 mark in overtime, and scored on a layup to give Barry a 70-67 lead. Hill then drained a triple with 1:55 to go to give the Buccaneers a six-point lead.
Savad Garner scored on a dish from Williams with 52 seconds to play to extend Barry's lead to eight. Garner sank two free throws to seal it.
Barrueta had his 10
th double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds. His 16 boards is tied for ninth in school single-game history. Bobby Latham set the school record with 22 versus Yeshiva on Jan. 30, 1992.
Ferrales' consecutive free throws made streak ended at 28 over a 12-game stretch, dating back to Jan. 3. He fell four shy of the school record of 32 in a row by Calix N'Diaye in 2005. Ferrales finished with six points and seven rebounds, including a big offensive board with 16 seconds left in regulation that sent him to the free throw line with the Bucs trailing by three.
Hill had 15 points, six assists and six steals.
Anders Haas scored 13 points, and Garner had 11.
Jevoni Robinson had 10 rebounds as the Bucs won the battle on the glass, 46-34.
Nova's Chris Page had 25 points and eight rebounds as the Sharks fell to 9-13, 5-8.
The Buccaneers shot 39.7 percent – the second lowest of the season. The Sharks hit 41 percent of their shots. Barry outscored Nova 22-7 in points off turnovers and 15-4 in second chance opportunities.
