MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University dropped a four-set volleyball match to Rollins Friday, 17-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-17, in the Health & Sports Center. The loss evened the Buccaneers record at 5-5 overall, 3-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Following its first-set .242 hitting percentage, Barry's attacking game struggled in the final three sets. The Bucs combined for 27 kills and 23 errors the rest of the match, finishing with an .078 attack rate. Rollins hit .155, recovering from an .027 percentage in the second set to hit .462 in the fourth in a match where momentum shifted once, but never truly again.
The Bucs will host Embry-Riddle, a provisional SSC member, at 4 p.m. Saturday to complete the weekend homestand. Saturday's match can be seen

Barry trailed 21-17 in the third set before a pair of combination blocks, spearheaded by
Katie Dooley, pulled the Bucs within 21-20.
Kaitlin Drake,
Eva Raat and
Jasmine Serna all were credited with block assists in the latter of the two points -- a rare triple block the one that trimmed the Tars lead to one. But Rollins took advantage of a Barry service and hitting error, and used an ace by MaryEllen Pole and kill by Shannon McDonough to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Dooley's kill early in the final set gave the Bucs a one-point lead. But the fourth set featured only two lead changes and five ties, both lows in the match, and the Tars never allowed the Buccaneers to recover from its 20-13 lead.
Raat finished with 16 kills, three aces and four blocks.
Ivana Didanovic had seven kills and five blocks, and Dooley seven kills and three blocks, while hitting a team-best .250. Drake had eight kills,
Jasmine Serna 22 assists and
Brittany Jaco 24 digs.Â
The Bucs were outblocked, 14-8.5. Rollins had 70 digs to Barry's 55.Â
