1-General | 7/30/2011 5:36:00 PM

BOSTON--Buccaneer pitching coach Alex Gonzalez, who has help led the Bourne Braves to second-place in the Western Division of the Cape Cod Baseball League, was tabbed to coach the West’s pitching all-stars at the 2011 CCBL All-Star game at Fenway Park on Friday.

“Having the opportunity to coach in the Cape Cod League has been an amazing experience,” Gonzalez said, “and to be selected to coach in the All-Star Game at historic Fenway Park is humbling.”

The West fell 4-1 to the east in the game, though Bourne pitcher Ryan Eades (LSU) tossed a scoreless first inning after earning the start and struck out one.

The Braves are currently tied for the CCBL lead in pitching with a 2.70 ERA and lead the league in strikeout/walk ratio (309/99). They are the only club to allow fewer than 100 walks at this point of the season. Falmouth is second at 112.
