Michael Donald joined the women's soccer coaching staff for the fall of 2019.
In his first season with the Bucs, Donald helped the team to a 9-7-0 mark, including a regular season championship in the Sunshine State Conference at 8-2-0, and the #1 seed in the SSC Tournament. Freshmen Minda Forsblom and Emma Lillbäck were both named to the All-SSC First-Team, while Sarah Wignall, Tash Hudson and Maddie Hart-Pomerantz made the Second-Team. Forsbloom and Lillbäck were both named to the Second-Team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and Lillbäck also earned the commendation from the D2CCA.  Dani Diaz was named to the SSC All-Tournament Team.Â
Donald joins the Bucs after serving since 2017 as the men's soccer assistant at conference member Embry-Riddle. He assisted head coach David Gregson with training, recruitment, video analysis, and scout reporting.
Donald is a former Eagle standout who played for Coach Gregson from 2008-11. Donald was an All-Conference left back who helped lead ERAU to The Sun Conference championships in 2009 and 2011. Before joining the Blue and Gold, he played for the Glasgow Rangers Football Club in Scotland.
After graduating from ERAU, Donald went on to play professionally in Scotland. This included a four-year tenure with AYR United in the Sottish Championship league.
He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Embry-Riddle in 2012.
Donald gained experience coaching at the AYR United Football Academy for several years before transitioning into a coaching role at the Florida Elite Soccer Academy in July of 2017. He also earned his UEFA A & B coaching licenses during this time.
