Sarah Dacey was named the seventh head coach in Barry women's soccer history in 2016.
She enters the 2020 season with a 95-45-22 record in nine years as a head coach, and a 45-15-5 mark at Barry in four seasons.
The 2019 season was a tale of two halves for the Buccaneers under Dacey. The team started off just 1-6 as they struggle through a number of injuries and growing pains. But after 3-2 win over arch-rival Lynn on the road, the team reeled off eight straight wins, including six shutouts, as the won the Sunshine State Conference regular season title for the second straight year and a league-record 11th time. Dacey was named the circuit's coach of the year for the second straight time and the fifth time in seven seasons for the Buccaneers. Freshmen Minda Forsblom and Emma Lillbäck were both named to the All-SSC First-Team, while Sarah Wignall, Tash Hudson and Maddie Hart-Pomerantz made the Second-Team. Forsbloom and Lillbäck were both named to the Second-Team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and Lillbäck also earned the commendation from the D2CCA. Dani Diaz was named to the SSC All-Tournament Team.
In 2018, she led the Bucs to a 16-1-1 mark, 9-0-1 in the the SSC, winning the regular season championship. The Bucs went on to beat Embry-Riddle 4-0 and Nova Southeastern 6-0 to win the conference tournament. It was just the third time that the the Bucs had won both titles in the same season and first since 2015. Christy Grimshaw was named the SSC Player of the Year for the second straight season. Molly Sharpe was pegged as the Offensive Player of the Year and Jade Adams earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. It was the first time in school history that Barry swept all three awards. In addition to the trio, Brittany Larosa, Yanni Asson and Melanie Zeigner earned first-team All-SSC and Sarah Wignall was named to the second-team. Grimshaw, Sharpe and Zeigner also earned Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-America, making the class one of the most decorated in school history.
In 2017, she guided the Buccaneers to a 9-3-2 overall, 7-1-2 season in the SSC for a second-place league finish. Grimshaw was named the SSC's Player of the Year, while Amanda Traynor collected the league's Offensive Player of the Year. Seven Buccaneers earned All-SSC honors, while Grimshaw, Traynor and Adams received All-South Region recognition.
In her first season at Barry in 2016, she led the Bucs back to the regional final. Barry went 11-4-2 overall, and 6-2-1 in the SSC. The Bucs earned the #1 seed in the NCAA Division II South Region, and hosted the first four rounds of the national tournament. Traynor and Katie Turner and Traynor earned First-Team All-SSC and First-Team All-South Region honors. Sharpe, Breia Pierce and Paula Forero were named Second-Team All-SSC.
Dacey joined the women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2015 season. She helped lead the team to a Sunshine State Conference regular season and tournament championships as well as the NCAA Division II South Region title.
She brings plenty of experience, having been head coach at Babson College and with the FC Bolts and an assistant coach at Boston College, Providence College and the University fo Tennessee. As an assistant at Boston College, she helped lead the Eagles to the 2010 Women's College Cup. Most recently, she served as a director of coaching for both the FC Boston Bolts and Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club.
Dacey spent five seasons as head coach of the Babson women's soccer program, guiding the Beavers to a solid record of 50-30-17, including stellar postseason runs in three of the last four seasons. In 2006, Babson tied perennial national powerhouse Wheaton in the conference semifinals before falling in penalty kicks, and in 2007, the Beavers advanced to the conference finals for the first time in 10 years.

She played professionally for the WUSA's Carolina Courage and Boston Breakers until 2003, when she took over as head girls' soccer coach at the Fay School in Southborough, Mass. Also an athletic associate at Fay, she guided the varsity program to undefeated seasons in each of her two years there.
A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter under legendary coach Anson Dorrance at UNC, Dacey helped lead the Tar Heels' soccer program to three National Championships while earning Honorable Mention All-American honors in 1996. She was also a three-year member and two-time All-American selection in women's lacrosse, leading the Tar Heels all the way to the Final Four on two occasions.
She played for the FC Bolts from 1990-1994, helping her team to win the first-ever Bolts USYSA National Championship in 1994 as the first team from Massachusetts to accomplish that feat. Dacey was named the tournament MVP.
Dacey holds an NSCAA Advanced National License. She graduated from North Carolina in 1998 with a degree in physical education.
