Cinthia Angus was named assistant coach of Barry University's volleyball team in March 2016. She is responsible for player development, on-court coaching, recruiting and administrative duties.
The Bucs took a huge step forward in 2018, going 29-4 and tying Tampa for the Sunshine State Conference title at 17-3. The Bucs earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, their first bid since 2010. Megi Buvinic was named the SSC Newcomer of the Year and a Second-Team AVCA All-American. Audren Rose was named to the AVCA All-Ameria Third-Team, while Kristina Filimonova and Anastasiia Samokhvlova earned honorable mention.
In 2017, with Angus in her second year at the school, the Buccaneers went 10-15 overall, 6-14 in the Sunshine State Conference. The Bucs won five matches during a six-match stretch, and were 4-1 on neutral site courts. The Bucs went 2-1 at the South Region Crossover. Kristina Filimonova was an honorable mention All-South Region selection, in addition to picking up First Team All-SSC honors. She was also a College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District choice.
In her first season with the Buccaneers, Angus helped guide the team to a 16-14 overall, 7-9 SSC record. Barry cracked the Top 10 of the NCAA South Region poll. Jaeda Allen was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, while also earning the Sunshine State Conference All-Newcomer award. Kristina Filimonova was selected as the SSC's Freshman of the Year.
Angus spent the 2015 season as the head coach at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. She also served as the co-head coach of High Country Volleyball Club 18s team in Salt Lake City. As an assistant coach with the club in 2015, she helped lead High Country to the national championships in New Orleans, while also moonlighting as the club director.
In 2014, Angus was the head coach of East High School in Salt Lake City. She spent the 2011 season as a volunteer assistant at the University of Utah. At Utah, she assisted in the development of the Top 20-ranked recruiting class, including the likes of Chelsey Schofield and Shelby Dalton, who also played for USA Volleyball.Â
As a club coach from 2011-2016, she coached players who went on to play in the Pac 12, Mid-American Conference and Big 12 Conference, as well as three All-Southwestern Athletic Conference selections and the SWAC Libero of the Year.
Angus earned her bachelor's degree in parks, recreation and tourism at Utah in 2011. She earned her masters degree in international business from Durham University in the United Kingdom in 2014.
