Lauren Gerarde joined the strength & conditioning staff as an assistant strength & conditioning coach in the fall of 2024.
In this role, she is responsible for training the baseball, softball, women’s tennis, men’s golf, and men’s volleyball teams.
Gerarde believes in a collaborative approach to strength training that incorporates input from head coaches and athletic trainers to ensure the strength training programs address a team’s needs both in-season and during the off-season. She also incorporates a diversified approach to the programming by designing and implementing training programs for athletes that include strength training, conditioning, agility, speed, and mobility routines. Overall, Gerarde fosters an inviting atmosphere in the weight room and takes pride in educating her student-athletes in all aspects of strength & conditioning.
Prior to Barry University, Gerarde worked at a private facility in Miami, Fla., where she assisted with training a variety of athletes, from youth club volleyball to current and former NBA players.
Gerarde graduated from Florida International University with her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude in 2016 and earned her master’s degree in applied physiology and kinesiology from the University of Florida in 2022. Santos is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), a U.S.A. Weightlifting Level 2 coach, and is CPR/AED certified.
Outside of the gym, Gerarde enjoys spending time in the sun, hiking, and rock climbing.
