MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The 23
rd-ranked Barry Softball team welcomed two top 25 match ups to Buccaneer Field. The first game of the double header was against fifth-ranked Saginaw Valley State, with the afternoon against no. 15 East Stroudsburg. Barry took both over the Warriors on the weekend, the second by run rule in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SVSU):

NOTEWORTHY (SVSU):
- The offense had just three hits in the game, the least amount this season.
- Barry tied a season high for 10-strikeouts.
- It was the first time the Bucs were shutout this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED (ESU):
- B1 | Serah Shafer scored the first run off an error from the shortstop to give Barry the early lead and first run of the day. | Barry 1, ESU 0
- B2 | A big second inning opened the gap early for the Bucs as five runs were added to the board. Bases were loaded with just one away for Harper Bunn who delivered a single to right field to drive in two. Shafer came behind and laid down a perfect bunt single that drew an errant through afterward to bring home two more. Sarah Langlie had an RBI-single later that drew in the sixth run. | Barry 6, ESU 0
- B4 | No amount of runs is ever enough, Barry added three more in the bottom of the fourth to put the run-rule into effect. Langlie walked to draw the bases loaded joining Shafer and pinch runner Kate Ristau. Chandler Barry had a sacrifice fly that scored two. NOTEWORTHY (ESU):
- Barry scored nine runs on six hits walking four times.
- Shafer went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
- The senior has reach safely in all 10 of the games.
- Samantha Rosenberger picked up her first win on the year with five shutout innings.
- She gave up just one hit, struck out two, and walked two.
- Tucker rides an eight-game hitting streak.
- It is the second run rule of the season, first shutout.
