Four Bucs Make WGCA Scholar All-America Team

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.- The 2024-25 WGCA All American Scholar Team was announced earlier this week with 1,499 women's collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized with this prestigious honor leaving four Buccaneers on that list. Candela Clemente, Giuliana Gomez, Imogen Rafferty,Tereza Zavrelova. These 4 athletes showed remarkable strength, persistence, and dedication not only on the course but as well as in the classroom.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:

  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive round during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.   

Clemente is a junior golfer at Barry who made the list with a GPA of 3.917 with a dual major in finance and accounting. She played in 20 of 31 rounds for the Bucs, compiling a 79.1 stroke average.  

Gomez is a senior who finishes off her academic career with a GPA of 3.843, majoring in exercise physiology. She's nationally ranked coming in at #264 and a regional rank of #123. She played in all 31 rounds this season, averaging 78.1 strokes.

Rafferty, a senior transfer from Chattanooga, finished the year with 4.0 in biology. She was ranked 116th in the country and 61st in the region. Playing in all 31 rounds, she compiled a 75.2 scoring average. She had two top-ten finishes including fourth place at the Saint Leo Invitational. 

Zavrelova is a sophomore golfer with an outstanding GPA of 4.0 in international studies. The Bucs' top golfer with a national ranking of 52nd and regional rank of 28th. She played in all 31 rounds, shooting 73.9 per round, and posting in two top-ten finishes including 4th in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate.
