SUMMARY:
Game One | Buccaneers 11, IA 3

  • B2: Zac Pyles led off with a double down the left-field line. Hector Vilorio followed with a double to right, bringing Pyles home. Dylan Rose then singled to shortstop, advancing Vilorio to third. Rose stole second, and both runners advanced further as Rose moved to third and Vilorio scored on back-to-back balks.

  • T3: an Inspiration batter singled through the left side, bringing in a run and advancing runners to second and third. The next batter grounded into a double play, with the runner from first out on the play, but the runner on second advanced to third and the runner on third scored.

  • T5: an Inspiration batter singled to left field, bringing in a run while another runner advanced to second.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Jeremy Ortiz went three for three at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in two runs. He was a key contributor offensively, helping to keep the pressure on the opposing defense with his consistent hitting.
  • Paul Gutierrez earned the win after a stellar 2.1-inning outing, where he allowed no hits or runs. He struck out three batters and faced seven, showing strong command and keeping the opposition off balance throughout his appearance.

  • Brenden Hayes earned the win after pitching four innings, allowing eitght hits and two earned runs. He walked one batter and struck out two, managing to work through the opposition's offense and secure the victory.
