MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 86-77 to the 11th-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action in Rick Case Arena on Wednesday night.

- 1Q - Barry jumped out in front early with a 7-0 run to start the game. Izzy Brenzil hit a three-pointer. But the Sailfish responded with an 8-0 run of their own to go up 8-7 on a triple by Darria Whitley with 3:32 left in the first. - 2Q - In the second quarter, the Bucs' defense clamped down, holding the 'Fish to just three baskets as they built a double-figure lead. Up two, the Bucs closed the period on a 17-2 run. Akvile Babraityte had eight points, capping the run with a three-pointer with 0:30 left. | Barry 37, PBA 20
- 3Q - The Bucs maintained their lead most of the third quarter and led by 24 after a layup from Jaz Cook with 2:29 left. The Sailfish scored the final five points of the frame to cut the lead to 19. | Barry 52, PBA 33
- 4Q - The Teams traded basketball again over the first seven minutes of the last quarter, with Barry up 19 after another bucket from Cook with 2:57 left. The Sailfish closed with a 10-5 run, but it was too litte, too late as the Bucs held on for the win. | Barry 69, PBA 55
NOTEWORTHY:
- Babraityte led the Bucs with a season-high 17 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the floor. She added nine rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double.
- Kornelia Ignerska and Cook each chipped in 14 points, while Cook added a game-high 14 rebounds. Brenzil also had 12.
- Blanche Toualeu led PBa with 14 points, while Breeje Schuler and Anabel Ellison each had 10.
- Barry out-rebounded the 'Fish 44-23, leading 16-6 in second-chance points.
