MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The offense was connecting in every way as the Barry Men's Basketball team broke triple digits on the scoreboard in their first Sunshine State Conference game in the Justin Furr era. The Buccaneers took down Eckerd 103-76 from Cesar Odio Court on Saturday evening. It is the first time Barry starts conference play 1-0 since the 2021-22 season.

SUMMARY:
- 1H - Ryan Van Eyck went straight to work for Barry driving down the lane to score the first bucket of the contest. It kicked of a 11-2 start for the Buccaneers with Van Eyck and Deon Perry splitting the points. Eckerd picked up their first lead of the game 13 minutes in taking a 24-23 advantage. The final scoreboard flip came off a three-point basket by Breno Silva that gave the Bucs the lead for good. However, the Tritons were able to bring it to within one possession before the break. Barry shot better from around the rim at nearly 40-percent compared to Eckerd at 20. The Tritons held the advantage in the paint at 20-8 at the half. - 2H - Another big run started the half at 12-2 this time. Adren Roberts added to the fun with a wide open slam and Šarenac had back to back knock down threes. The Bucs ended on a 9-0 run that held the Tritons scoreless for just under the final three minutes. The offense shot 67.6% in the second half going 23-34 on field goals including 5-for-9 on threes. The paint advantage flipped in favor of Barry at 32-16 and the Bucs outscored the Tritons 61-37 in the second half. NOTEWORTHY:
- Marko Šarenac had a career high and game high 23 points.
- Perry has scored in double figures in all four games thus far.
- Van Eyck tied his season-high with 13 points. He led in the assists column with six assists.
- Six Bucs were in double figures including four of the five starters and adding Gui Tesch and Malik Stanley off the bench.
- Sixty percent of the Buccaneer baskets had an assist tied to it.
- Barry made more free throws than Eckerd attempted.
- Nine of the 10 Bucs that touched the floor scored four-plus points.
