William Reifsnider played first base for the Buccaneers from 1987-90. He played in 178 games, and totaled 11 career records and five single-season records. His career batting average of .359 ranks fourth in school history. His 63 career doubles remains the school record. His 231 career hits rank sixth and 145 RBI fourth. He hit over .300 every year, including a personal best of .397 as a senior. It was during his senior season that he set a Barry record with 25 doubles, which now ranks second. He was named to the SSC All-Conference Team as a senior. Reifsnider set records for on-base percentage (.509), which now ranks eighth, and walks (39) as a freshman in 1987.

Given the Woody Hayes National Scholar-Athlete Award in 1990, he was the first three-time winner of Barry’?s Male Scholar Athlete of the Year (1987-88 through 1989-90), and the first of only two players to also simultaneously earn the Barry Male Athlete of the Year Award. He was Barry’?s first Rhodes Scholar Candidate in 1990. Reifsnider was named a GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1989.
