Steve McCrath, the scion of men’s soccer coaching legend Cliff McCrath with whom he won national championships as both a player and assistant coach at Seattle Pacific, was at the helm for 23 of the Buccaneers’ 41 seasons, amassing a 241-134-40 record, five Sunshine State Conference championships and the 2018 NCAA Division II national championship. He coached the first 27 of the Bucs’ 30 All-Americans as well as 11 of the 12 Scholar and Academic All-Americans. A total of five of his former players have been inducted into the Wall of Honor, including Alen Marcina (2007), Mark Anderson (2021) Andy Hylton (2021), Johnny Rodrigues (2024) and Jon Samford (2025). Mark Anderson pulled a rare double award in 2010, becoming the only Buccaneer in history to be named Player of the Year (Daktronics) and Academic All-American of the Year (CoSIDA).
