RemiJin Camping was the Bucs’ first women’s golf All-American, exploding on the scene as a freshman in 2005, earning Sunshine State Conference and NGCA National Freshman of the Year honors. She also won the individual medal at the SSC Tournament that year, the first Buccaneer to do so. She went on to be a four-time All-SSC pick and NGCA All-America three times. She carded a career 76.71 stroke average (record at the time and currently fifth in program history) and an 83.2 finish percentage (defeated 83.2 percent of opponents; currently second in program history). She had two career wins, in 99 rounds, with 94 counting scores for a 97.9 percentage (second in program history). She was an NGCA Scholar All-American as a senior. Camping played a season on Duramed Futures Tour (now called the Symetra Tour) and advanced to the second round of the LPGA Qualifying School, before working as a private golf coach. She returned to Barry to complete two bachelor’s degrees in music and photography and will earn her MFA in photography this fall. She has worked in the Fine Arts Department at Barry since 2013 and received the Sister Jeanne O’Laughlin Administrative Assistant Award in 2017. She also runs her own creative business, Love Shine Studios, since 2014.
