LeeAnne Craft was the first NCAA All-American for softball in Barry history. The Rosselle, Ill., native was a unanimous selection as a third baseman her senior year. She began her career at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., and then transferred to Barry. During her one season, she established school records for batting average (.427). She also established the mark for doubles (11), which was broken several years later. One of the best third baseman ever for the Buccaneers, Craft also earned All-Region and All-Sunshine State Conference honors, and was named to the SSC All-Academic Team in 1992.
Following her graduation, she remained at Barry for three seasons as assistant coach, and was an integral part of the 1994 team that reached the NCAA finals. She also served as strength coach for the softball squad. Craft earned a master?s degree in Barry’?s Physical Therapy program in 1995 before becoming a physical therapist in San Francisco.
