One of Barry’s leading scorers, Andy Hylton, switched to defense as a senior to earn an NSCAA All-America award. He finished with 28 goals, 14 assists, and 70 points. He also earned Verizon Academic All-America in 1999 and 2000 as he led the Bucs to the Final Four both years. He led the team to the national title game in 2000, a four- overtime classic against Cal State-Dominguez Hills. He was named 2000 SSC Player of the Year as a sweeper for a team that led the conference in defense. Finishing with a 3.556 GPA, he was the 2000-01 Barry Co-Male Athlete of the Year. He played three years of professional soccer with the Carolina Rail-Hawks and represented Great Britain at the World University Games in Beijing, China in 2001. Hylton went on to earn a master’s in physician assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina. He currently oversees the PA department for the largest orthopedic group in the country, OrthoCarolina.
