MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry Esports head coach Lance Hotchkiss announced this week that the team will be taking part in the PlayVS Fall Fortnite Collegiate Series. The Bucs will compete in eight weeks of regular season competition followed by a two week postseason which includes a playoff round followed by the championship.

Fornite is a battle royale game where 100 players fight against each other in player versus player combat to be the last one standing. It is a fast-paced, action-packed game where strategic thinking is a must in order to survive. This series of competition will be played with the trios gamemode where 33 trios will begin each game, subsequently facing off with one another until only one team surivives. Points are rewarded for a combination of placement and eliminating other opponents.

"This marks Barry's first Fortnite tournament of the 2020 season," said Hotchkiss, "We have some great talent that I've seen and helped give all the tools to succeed, and I am looking forward to these upcoming events."

Barry's trio will be composed of three students; Franklin Utate(Conscients), Justin Francis(Crzypro500) and Sebastian Skay(S k a y).

"I'm looking forward to getting to compete and represent Barry University and showcase my skills to the world," said Francis, the team's captain, "and I'm confident that we will put up a good fight and have a chance to win it all!"
