LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball is still without a Sunshine State Conference Tournament title. The Buccaneers lost to Eckerd, 96-71, Sunday in the league title game.
Barry had more free throws (25) than field goals (20). Eckerd hit 29 field goals and 29 free throws, erasing what had been a five-game losing streak to the Buccaneers.
"When you're down 30 at the half, I was digging deep in the playbook," Barry head coach Butch Estes said. "I wish we didn't have to gamble."
Now Barry will turn its attention to the NCAA Tournament. The Selection Show is set for 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
