DENVER -- Barry University junior middle blocker
Ivana Didanovic was named the AVSR Global National Player of the Week. This marks the second time in her career she received the award.
Didanovic, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker from Belgrade, Serbia, had 10 blocks in Barry's weekend sweep of Sunshine State Conference opponents Saint Leo and Eckerd. She had seven blocks in the win over Saint Leo. Didanovic also hit .327 during the weekend's two wins, pounding 24 kills in the wins. Didanovic had 15 kills in the win over the Lions Friday.Â
Her presence at the net helped hold the Tritons to a .181 attack percentage on Friday.
Didanovic, who leads the Buccaneers in solo blocks, won the AVSR award as a sophomore.
Barry plays at Lynn Tuesday and at defending national champion Tampa on Thursday. The Bucs return home Oct. 9-10 when they host Rollins and Embry-Riddle.
