Competition ran Jan. 5-April 3. Barry volunteered in 13 events, completing over 700 hours of community service, which included National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Make-A-Wish Foundation reveal, MS Walk, Aplastic Anemia swab raise and University's Brides Walk.

Florida International logged the most community service hours, Louisville was second, Barry third, Wisconsin fourth and Walsh University fifth. The top five schools combined for 3,752 volunteer hours.

"I am very excited and pleased with what our student-athletes have accomplished, especially in such a short period of time," Barry assistant athletic director for compliance and special events Amanda Knight said. "Their dedication to reach out to the people and families in this community is impressive, and I commend them for their hard work."

Barry used an app called HelperHelper to track hours and events of volunteer work.

"It's amazing to see students from all over the country giving back," Knight said. "We're definitely looking forward to next year's competition, and finishing at the top spot."
